SPOTLIGHT

At St Margaret Mary’s Catholic Junior School, we offer an inclusive curriculum that enables all children to develop knowledge, understanding and skills, through loving learning and growing together with Jesus. As Catholic educators, we promote the spiritual, moral, social, cultural, mental and physical development of all children and thus prepare them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life. 

Children’s personal development is at the heart of our curriculum and everything we do in St Margaret Mary’s Catholic Junior School. We want our children to be safe, be respectful and be their best with the belief that all of our children will go on to do great things. Children take on leadership roles and it is our belief that we are creating leaders of tomorrow who will need to be equipped with life skills and a strong moral compass. As well as our Pupil Leadership Teams, we have shone a SPOTLIGHT on our curriculum which provides opportunities for all children to:

T – attend trips and be part of transition work

This SPOTLIGHT offer is extended to our bespoke extra-curricular offer: we offer a wide variety of extra-curricular activities to help our children develop new skills and interests and to encourage them to aim high.

Through the content and delivery of our bespoke curriculum, we provide opportunities for all children to make progress in reading, writing and maths as well as other subjects within the broader curriculum. With the National Curriculum at its core, our school curriculum is created to meet the needs of all our children. Progressively planned learning in all subjects enables children to acquire the intended knowledge and skills, to revise this knowledge, to practise these skills, to make meaningful connections and to continuously build upon learning. We have enriched our curriculum with texts, to support deep and meaningful learning in foundation subjects.
