RED: To Know You More Clearly

The new Religious Education Directory ‘To Know You More Clearly’ has been implemented in Year 3 at St Margaret Mary’s Catholic Junior School, beginning September 2024.

The model curriculum aims to draw pupils into an encounter with a story, the story of God’s relationship with humanity. It creates the opportunity for religious education to be as rich in knowledge as any other curriculum subject while offering the life-transforming possibilities of biblical wisdom.

Pupils are taught through six branches throughout the academic year:

Branch 1: Creation and Covenant

Branch 2: Prophecy and Promise

Branch 3: Galilee to Jerusalem

Branch 4: Desert to Garden

Branch 5: To the Ends of the Earth

Branch 6: Dialogue and Encounter

Parents have the statutory right to withdraw their child from all or part of Religious Education (RE) lessons. If you wish to exercise this right, please contact the school to discuss the process.
