The Government in England wants every school to be a sustainable school by 2020. The Department for Children, Shools and Families (DCSF) launched their Sustainable Schools Framework in 2006 when the Secretary of state for Education, the Rt Alan Johnson MP set out challenging long – term aspirations for schools mainstream learning about sustainable development issues and practices into everyday school life.
We are a voluntary aided school in Knowsley Education Authority. In February 1997 permission was granted for the school to move into the building which was formally known as Cardinal Heenan Lower School. Classes started here in September 1997. We have made significant improvements to the building and we are very proud of the facilities available to the pupils, staff and the community.
