At St Margaret Mary’s Roman Catholic Junior School, we are fully committed to promoting positive Mental Health and Well being across our whole school community as we believe that by doing so, we will develop happy, well rounded pupils who are emotionally resilient to deal with all that life throws at them. Within school we have a robust Pastoral system to ensure that any  pupils presenting as vulnerable are allocated an adult ‘Well Being Champion’. Pupils are further supported through opportunities to participate in regular workshops and through strategies such as : Yoga, Mindfulness and  Well Being Wednesday. The Senior Leadership Team ensure that staff are well supported through bespoke Continual Professional Development and through the opportunity to contribute to forums at which they can vocalise ways in which we can further improve their work life balance and can make positive improvements to our overall provision. Likewise parents are invited to have an active voice in the school  through regular coffee mornings, forums and regular opportunities to participate in surveys. By taking this joined up approach, we are confident that our school is a happy and healthy place for the community to thrive.’  Mrs R Wilkinson

Feelings of wellbeing are fundamental to the overall health of an individual, enabling them to successfully overcome difficulties and achieve what they want out of life. ... A child's wellbeing will be affected by the wellbeing of their parents so it is essential that parents take time for themselves in this respect.

With this in mind as a school we have begun the journey to achieve The National Well-Being Award. Working with all members of our school community we are striving to ensure we do our best to promote the mental health and well-being of ALL.
